Addison Boyd

2024 | CT: Farmington

Recruit Profile
Fast, natural lefty, elite club multisport athlete, ultracompetitive with strong lax IQ and a coachable, team first mentality ready to join a team and contribute on and off the field.

My name is Addison Boyd, but basically everyone calls me Addy. I am a 14 year old rising 10th grader at Miss Porter's School in Farmington, CT. I am a starter on our varsity lacrosse and soccer teams and just started playing squash. I finished my 9th grade year with a 3.8 GPA and hope to attend a college where I can contribute to the team after earning game time in practice and the classroom. After college, I hope to attend medical school where I would like to study to be a surgeon.

I have been playing two sports at the highest club levels. I am an outside defender and outside forward on the 2006 ECNL (Elite Clubs National League) soccer team at FSA FC. I recently completed a soccer tournament where our team was scouted by coaches from big d1 programs like UMass, UConn and West Virginia. I am also a Middie and Attacker on the top 2024 team at Nor'Easter Lacrosse Club.

Miss Porter's plays in the well-known private school Founder's League in New England against schools like Loomis Chaffee, Choate and Taft. I am excited to work with Coach Taylor Moreau to build and establish the program at Porter's! My goal is to win the Founder's League before I graduate. We have a lot of work to do , but I am ready.

After this season, I plan on stepping back from club soccer to focus on lacrosse because it is my passion and I want to play in college. I will still play high school soccer and squash, though and we should compete for the NEPSAC soccer championship this fall. Last summer I was selected to represent CT in lacrosse for the WPLL Futures program.

My coaches and teammates know that I work hard and like to use my speed and quickness to beat opponents. When I completed playing for my town lacrosse team after 8th grade, I finished as our leading scorer. As a freshman starter at Porter's I led the lacrosse team in scoring in our COVID shortened season and scored a goal in our only soccer game of the year.

To whom it may concern: I have the privilege of knowing Addison Boyd for the last few years. Addison is a natural leader and this is evident in the way she communicates with her peers. She immediately impressed me with her passion, professional demeanor, and her competitiveness. Beyond being an impactful leader Addison is a high contributor and I heartily endorse her to continue her success in any environment. Addison is dependable, enthusiastic, and approachable. Teams are always diverse and filled with differing personalities, which can make working together challenging. Addison can connect with each person at Miss Porter’s School. She knows how to motivates her peers. She knows how to relate and bring out the best in those around her. I value Addison’s knowledge and presence, her ability to exceed expectations in all of her endeavors, and her wholehearted embrace of change. Addison masterfully balances her studies with being a phenomenal athlete. Addison is a passionate, hardworking person and she has my highest recommendation. I have no doubts you will be exceptionally pleased to have Addison be a part of your program. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Addy is determined, strong, fit, fast, admirable, and resilient! The first time I got the opportunity to coach Addy I knew she would be something special! She immediately showed grit, hustle, speed and an eagerness to learn that was impossible to ignore! She is a player who is not afraid to go to cage, but also has great composure and vision. Addy takes feedback and immediately applies it to her play without hesitation! Her speed is something that immediately catches the eye but as you continue to watch her play you will recognize how strong of a foundation she has! Her defensive footwork is not only explosive but also quick and consistent. She is not afraid to make contact outside the 8m and is able to recover using her speed if she gets beat! Attacking wise she is a major threat through transition and on settled attack. Her ability to use both of her hands is one of her strongest attributes. She has great dodges and footwork to get not only shots off but also feeds. Addy is a player you not only want on your team, but is someone you worry about playing against!

As Addison's high school lacrosse coach I can attest to her work ethic, intensity and drive after just having her for one season as a freshman. Addy is a player you want on your team, she goes 100% all of the time, treating every rep at practice as if it is the last seconds of a tie game. She pushes those around her to become better as well. Addy is physical on defense and quick on the attack. I'm very excited to have her for the next three years and to be able to witness how much better she'll get. Addy also plays for the Club program I work for, she has been on our top level team her whole career there.
