Alex Stone

Profile
Alex Stone, a player and coach in one of the strongest Division III conferences for the past eight years, joined the Muhlenberg College staff as an assistant.

He serves as defensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator.

Stone was the head coach at Bard College for the last three seasons, following one year as an assistant. Guiding a fledgling program that achieved varsity status in 2013, Stone led the Raptors to a one-win improvement from the previous year in both 2016 and 2017 while competing in the Liberty League, a conference that had five of its eight teams receive votes in the final 2017 Division III poll.

In Stone’s first year as a head coach, Bard defeated Skidmore in just its fourth Liberty League game ever; a win that LaxPower.com rated as the biggest upset in Division III that year.

Stone coached three Bard players who received All-Liberty League awards, including rookie of the year in 2015, honorable mention selections in 2015 and 2017 and a second-team pick in 2016.
