I began playing lacrosse in first grade. I quickly realized I loved playing the sport. I excelled at many positions, but when I began playing club lax, I discovered I loved playing defense the most. Stopping someone from scoring; shutting down a would-be goal scorer; checking/backchecking the ball from someone's stick; batting down passes; getting ground balls all give me a real sense of accomplishment because I have helped my team be successful. That's my goal, to help my team be successful.

I exclusively played defense on my club team for my first four years. Then, starting my fifth year, I was asked to play midfield because of my stickhandling ability and my speed. Because we already had established scorers at both the middie and attack positions, I found my niche on the X where I was able to make assists, score the occasional goal, and be able to re-defend quickly. I take more pride and experience a greater sense of accomplishment setting my teammates up to be successful on the offensive end of the field than I do scoring goals myself. Scoring goals is great, but helping others succeed while helping my team succeed is what makes me the most proud.

My overall goal for attending college is to get a great academic education! As much as I love lacrosse, academics are very important to me. I am an honors student in some classes at the Institute of Notre Dame (IND), and I am consistently an "A" and "B" student. My favorite classes deal with biomedicine/math/science, but I am taking a diverse set of classes which is making me a well-rounded student.

I am an "Ambassador" at IND which means I was selected to assist the school during recruiting drives, during public/private school events and whenever called upon to assist my school in any way possible.

In addition to being a starter on defense at IND my freshman and sophomore seasons, and being nominated for the all Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland (IAAM) B Team (for defense) my freshman and sophomore seasons, I also I played varsity soccer my freshman and sophomore years at IND, as well as JV basketball my sophomore year. I was chosen MVP of that team.
