Andrew Ruterman
Recruit Profile
Take-charge leader who's intelligent on and off the field; quick learner, highly coachable; supportive teammate; strong academics with a challenging schedule; involved in community.
I have played many sports throughout my life, but really took to lacrosse in 5th grade. I played all over the field, but mostly stuck to attack and then midfield my 7th grade year. My club was runner up to the Cactus Cup Gold championship twice, and won the Silver Cup where I scored three goals. Freshman year, I made the JV 1 team as an attackman and put some points on the board. Sophomore year I switched to goalie and helped lead the team to an undefeated season. Junior year, I made it onto varsity, beating two seniors for the starting spot. In terms of save percentage, I was within the top 10 by the end of the year and only allowed 39 goals. My clearing game is effective, and I have even had a direct assist. I try to keep my academic schedule rigorous and challenging, having passed many AP classes with an A. I take pride in my skateboarding and community service. This year, I have been volunteering with Saving Amy, tutoring kids from underprivileged families.
