Since I was 5, I've loved lacrosse; the feeling of the stick in my hand, the feeling of stopping the other team from scoring, has felt natural, allowing me to become the leading defender of my club team. While on the field, I take pride in my communication on defense, my ability to fulfill whatever role my coaches require of me, and my endless determination to continually improve during games, at practice, and at home. I play for both 2way and Laxachusetts, absorbing as much knowledge about the game from my coaches while taking advantage of as much experience in the sport as possible. Going beyond the reaches of my school and club environments, I volunteer for the youth lacrosse program, helping spark the love for the game in the younger generation. I have received varsity letters in both lacrosse and football from my high school. As the upcoming football season approaches, I am helping orchestrate captains' practices and team-bonding activities to showcase my leadership capabilities. On a scholastic note, I challenge myself in the classroom through various honors courses, even earning college credit already through UConn Biology. In order to prepare myself to pursue a career as a lawyer, I participate in my town's Mock Trial team. Not only does this grant me the opportunity to improve my understanding of law, but helps better my public speaking and problem-solving skills, while working in a collaborative environment. Additionally, I also am in Best Buddies and Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA). Best Buddies is an international organization that works to promote inclusivity and respect, teaching me how to be a good teammate. DECA, on the other hand, is a business club where a participant is presented a roleplay and must come up with a creative solution, a task that enhances communication, decision-making, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
