Braeden Lange
Recruit Profile
Lefty attackman who can also play midfield, quick, high lacrosse IQ, strong in both hands, scorer and feeder, team player
I have been playing lacrosse since I was 5 years old and both my father and grandfather played in college. I am a left handed attackman but feel confident in both hands and can also play midfield. I have been on Freedom since we started and typically have led the team in goals or points. I also was chosen to play on the Philadelphia All Star Team that played in Denver for The World Games and also the Chester County Lacrosse Association All Star team.
I currently attend The Shipley School in Bryn Mawr, PA and play basketball and lacrosse there. I am a starting guard on the basketball team and play primarily attack for lacrosse.
I also was the subject of an ESPN piece detailing my journey as I came out. It was a great experience and allowed me to meet some great people as well as help other young people struggling with who they are. While to some it was strange that I was an out lacrosse player my team never made me feel weird, I was always the same to them. Because of this ESPN coverage we started a charity called The Courage Game where we celebrate our sport and inclusivity. We have it every year the day before the NCAA Championships.
