Having coached Cam as a youth player and now watching him as a High School Athlete what strikes me most is his lack of complacancy. He is always working to improve his individual skills. He has all the offensive tools, both right and left handed and great field awareness.

Cam is athletic ambidextrous midfielder with quick first step and strong dodge capability. Cam is a strong asset to our program with a high lacrosse IQ. More importantly, Cam is a quality student and an excellent teammate. He is coachable and a student of the game.

As head coach, I coached Cam at the Youth and Middle School level. While working with a player at ages 11 through 14 doesn’t necessarily say much about an athlete at the varsity level in High School, it does give a unique glimpse into a young man’s character. Skill is one thing – I have coached many good players over the years, and Cam remains the best – but character is every bit as important when a university is considering a substantial investment in an athlete. Even though Cam’s skill level surpassed his teammates (by a lot at times), he always led the team, picked up his teammates and was the glue that propelled our Middle School club to its highest ranking in history, a top 12 seed in the State of Ohio. He had a relentless practice ethic and a burning desire to win, and win we did. I have coached other elite players whose skills came with an attitude not uncommon for a teenager. What was uncommon was Cam’s maturity at a young age that balanced being the go-to guy with making the players around him better. A final word on talent. While one might point out Cam’s fluid stick skills as a strong point in his favor, his high field IQ and speed are what separated him from his peers, two essentials for a scholarship lacrosse athlete.

Cam is a quick learner and has many skills which make him a solid lacrosse player. His ability to shoot in space and dodge hard make him a threat anywhere on the field.
