Recruit Profile
I started varsity as a sophomore and freshman at Wayne Valley High School and play for Tri-State Black 2020 in the summer. I have a 3.8 Grade Point Average.

I recently completed my sophomore girls lacrosse season at Wayne Valley (1,400 enrollment). I was a starter in both my sophomore (middie) and freshmen seasons (attack or middie).

As a sophomore, I led my team with 22 assists. I also scored 10 goals and had 19 groundballs. My team went 12-7 and reached the final game of the Passaic County Tournament and the semifinals of the State Sectional Tournament. I earned an Honorable Mention All-Conference (NJIGLL Independence) and an Honorable Mention All-County (Passaic). Nearly all the first and second teamers were upperclassman.

As a freshmen, I scored 16 goals, had 13 assists and 17 ground balls. My team went 12-6 and reached the final game of the Passaic County Tournament and the semifinals of the State Sectional Tournament.

Through eight high school marking periods, I have also been excelling academically. I currently have a 3.8 GPA and I take a robust schedule of enriched and AP courses. I will be taking the ACT or SAT this coming fall.
On a side athletic note, as a sophomore I started on the varsity field hockey team and on the junior varsity basketball team. I don’t intend to play basketball in college, but I may be interested in playing field hockey. I believe that my abilities in field hockey and basketball show that I am versatile and athletic. Some say I take after my brother (Joe Scancarella), who plays football for Wesleyan University.

This summer, I earned my Life Guard Certification. Being physically fit, smart and alert were all requirements. I have since been employed as a Lifeguard at Packanack Lake in Wayne. Far more important than earning a paycheck, are the water rescue techniques, first aid skills, basic medical care and basic life support skills that I acquired. While I plan to lifeguard only for the foreseeable future, I will always be equipped to help people who are in need of basic medical treatment or help in the water.

Based on my athletic skills and based on my academic performance, I strongly believe that I could make a strong addition to your program. For your consideration, I have attached a link to my ConnectLax page. Please let me know what steps I should be taking to get on your program’s radar.
Thank you very much.
