Recruit Profile
Words used to describe me playing lacrosse over the years: aggressive, strong, fierce, determined, competitive, and a team player. Crease roll specialist and great at creating space.
Playing lacrosse means confidence to me. Working hard is something that I am used to. I was diagnosed with dyslexia in early elementary school. I didn't always understand what that meant except for school has ben very difficult for me and at times uncomfortable and embarrassing. I learned to work harder than most at school.
Athletics has always been an escape for me because it mays me comfortable, confident, and successful. I started my sports career in early elementary with softball, basketball, and karate. I achieved my Jr Black Belt at the age of 9. I started lax 7 years ago in the the youth program and I immediately fell in love.
I continued playing town youth lacrosse for 4 years and then tried out for a local travel club lacrosse team in 8th grade for which I am still a member. (CT-Shoreline Sharks Girls 2022). I soon became part of a team where most were of the same competitive level with a former D1 college player as a coach. The drills, skills practice, and competition of tournaments allowed me to rise above. As a freshman, I tried out for my D2
RI High School Lacrosse team (Westerly High School) + scored the 1 spot that was available. Attack. Previously, I had played mostly midfield. This was new to me but I had a successful Varsity Freshman D2 year. I started and played every minute of every game including the championship game. We did lose but personally I had a good game with 2 goals/ 2 assists/ turnovers, and great field awareness. I feel that field awareness is one of my strengths. I ended my freshman with 31 goals and just as many assists and was named RIIL Rookie of the Year. I used to focus on scoring goals but now I realize that making plays happen, creating space, movement without the ball, turnovers, and assisting others will make me a better player. I am hoping to play competitive lacrosse in college. I hope to find the tools to be academically accepted and play my favorite sport- lacrosse for a team that fits my playing style. I am coachable with untapped potential. I am currently working with a trainer on my agility.
