Lacrosse entered my life when I was eight years old. My township allowed me to play on the 3rd/4th grade team and it was fun! My brother practiced with me when I wasnt playing with my team. At first I was a mid, and it was a good position for me. I loved winning face-offs and taking the ball down the field. As I got older I realized that becoming more focused on scoring and less switching from offense to defense was a better fit for me. Ive had excellent supportive coaches and Ive perserveered through a couple of non-supportive interestingly jealous parent type coaches. Ive played club and community leagues. Since I began my high school career, Ive grown to love the sport more each day. As a freshman I was very excited to make it to double roster for both JV and Varsity. More exciting was my opportunity to play enough Varsity time to earn my letter. This was an incredible feat because my High School, Notre Dame, doesnt not have a LAX team. I have to play for a cooperative school, Moravian Academy. MA has a sports philosophy of requiring every freshman to play a sport. The teams get flooded with players and the coaches are required to give them all equal playing opportunities. I also entered in a transition year for coaching staff. I told myself to remain focused and remember that I am able to play the sport I love most. Volleyball, Cheering and Wrestling Manager are my other sport commitments. I was able to letter in cheering as a freshman as well. I love being involved in a wide variety of activities. Aside from regularly volunteering at our local nursing home, I am member of the greenhouse club, and history club. As I look forward to a year with my club team I plan to further develop my left side approaches and develop more confidence against larger more developed players. Making sure that I dodge and finish and shoot with both hands is a major focus for me. I know it will be a good year for me on my high school team. Im excited for whats coming.
