Charlotte Rayder
Recruit Profile
Former Tier 1 ice hockey center, team-oriented, super quick, defensive-minded midfielder, heavy shot, very strong academics, and multiple musical and artistic interests/talents.
Multi-sport athlete, but spent most of youth focusing on ice hockey. Earned spot on the USA Hockey U14 Elite National Camp (Eastern US) per national tryout with judge panel that including 2018 USA Olympic Gold Medalist. Also invited to/and attended Rush Hockey College Showcase in Toronto (as only a 7th grader), one of only 6 girls at that age level in North America playing among rising freshman-seniors.
First played lacrosse (age 12) on a B level team in Northern Virginia Youth Lacrosse League, but was our starting center/high scorer and led team to undefeated season and league championship (15+ teams) -- despite never before having even picked up a lacrosse stick. Went right back to hockey full-time, yet was selected to move up to the top level (7/8 grade AA) team the following lacrosse season, playing both midfield and defense. Currently playing high school club lacrosse as a midfielder. I'm very fast and very strong -- both upper and lower body -- and so hard to knock off the ball, and I have a very hard shot too (a natural lefty). I enjoy chasing down opponents, as well as setting up my teammates from either in front of or behind the net. I was a coach's kid on many of my hockey teams, so pride myself in being coachable and leading by example at practices and games.
Off the field, I'm on the quieter side. I enjoy playing guitar, keyboard, and trumpet, and pencil drawing and some painting as well. Earning straight A's thus far in HS, including some early AP courses (Spanish, History). During my freshman year, I ran varsity track (sprint events), and I am also on the set building/stage crew for school plays. Intending to study politics in college.
