Colin Gordon
Recruit Profile
Disciplined, determined multi-sport student athlete (lacrosse and hockey). Demonstrated leadership and strong lax IQ. Team player, always looking for the opening to make plays, move ball and get to net.
I have had a passion for sports ever since I was young, playing in competitive travel organizations including baseball, soccer, basketball, hockey, lacrosse, and golf. As I got older, lacrosse (including box) and hockey became my focus. I play both sports for The Lawrenceville School, as well as for outside travel teams, playing lacrosse for Blue Star under Coach Whitlow. I have consistently been named an all-star player and have served as Team Captain of my hockey team for several years. I pride myself on being a true scholar athlete, and am just as competitive in the classroom as on the field. I have made Dean's list almost every term at Lawrenceville, with the past year also being awarded High Honors. My cumulative GPA is currently a 3.8, and as I approach my junior year, I will be taking AP history and science classes.
My achievements have not always come easily. I am the kind of person that sets a high bar for myself, and always want to exceed it. I am not afraid to work hard and seek candid feedback from coaches and teachers to improve. I will dig in and do the work to get to where I need to be. The intense competitive nature at Lawrenceville has forced me to learn the art of balancing a demanding and rigorous academic load, while continuing to excel both in the classroom and on the field. I am passionate, humble, hungry, and am often told I am an unselfish player. I play for the team, not just for my individual wins. I am known for my quick release, ability to finish with both hands and to take my defender head on.
I finished Lawrenceville JV Lacrosse this spring with most goals and assists for 2021 season. I was also recently named to the All Star Team at the 2021 Trilogy Radar Invitational Tournament in July. Additionally, I am a counselor at the Nike Golf camp this summer.
I also have a strong focus on community. Student Government, volunteering for a homeless shelter and Big Brothers/Big Sisters, as well as serving as a tour guide and a member of the Sports Business Club at Lawrenceville are all part of my day to day life too. And I look forward to getting back to school post COVID to engage even more.
