Connor Hodgson
Recruit Profile
Aggressive two-sport athlete. Team motivator/leader. Coachable, selfless player. High Intelligence. Sees the field and anticipates plays ahead. Maintains advanced course load. Wicked fast first step.
I began playing lacrosse in 5th grade. I am also a black belt in Taekwondo. I played football through 9th grade and I have continued to play both highschool and club basketball and lacrosse. I am a versatile and explosive player, playing point guard, shooting guard and small forward on the basketball court as well as attack and midfielder on the lacrosse field. I am a playmaker and I focus on elevating everyone's game, often energizing the team with aggressive defense or a drive to the goal or basket. I see the field well and anticipate moves leading to key passes or interceptions. I have a very quick first step and can get past most any defense player on a dodge. I keep my head up (a skill developed in basketball) and am always looking for a shot or a pass so I am not predictable for a defense. I have made the all-star team at both showcases that I have attended (EPOCH NAS 2021 and Apex National Fall Showcase 2022). At Apex I was awarded one of the MVP Standout Helmets for my play in the All-star game. I attend The Westminster Schools in Atlanta, GA where I have a 96/100 average and I am currently taking AP Calculus, AP Chinese, AP Biology, AP Computer Science, AP English Literature and History. I am a bible study leader, guiding a group of middle school boys in weekly discussion and I am a leader on the Christian Life Council. I was the only sophomore to start on the Varsity Lacrosse Team that played in the State Championship Game. I scored the winning goal in OT against Harrison HS and I scored a hat trick in the first half to beat, then nationally ranked Blessed Trinity. I am certified as a lacrosse referee in Georgia. During the summer, I volunteer as a youth instructor with La Amistaad where I teach math to underserved youth. This past summer, I was invited to the final Combine (top 50 from tryouts across the US) for the USA Lacrosse U16 National Development team. I have decided to forego playing varsity basketball this year so I can attend IMLCA and IMG Futures. In college I hope to study engineering and finance.
