Hi Coaches,
My name is Connor Penderghest. I am a lockdown defender who specializes in aggressive close defense. I can run the length of the field if necessary and have the stickwork to maintain possession or finish the ball in the cage if needed! I pride myself on my lacrosse IQ, my ability to see the field, find my teammates to distribute the ball, work ethic, and leadership. There is no amount of effort I won't put in to improve myself or my game. I am always ready and willing to learn!
I started for my high school varsity team taking face-offs and as a LSM, because that is what the team team needed. Sophomore year I led the varsity team in caused turn-overs and directed the defense helping teammates with positioning. I played virtually every minute of every game as the anchor to our team's defense. I was an All-League Selection at the end of the season. I also play for Bucks Select Elite 2024 Club. I love being ably to use my physicality and gain possession on a ground ball and then distribute downfield to a teammate for the transition.
In addition to lacrosse I am also a three year varsity football player. The past two years, playing both ways on every play. I play defensive end in which I first have to read the play, block, and then rush the quarterback, using my size and speed to disrupt the offense. I also used to play basketball and still play recreationally.
I plan to be a teacher and coach after college. I am part of a club that helps special needs students at school and like to volunteer as a youth basketball coach. I also work as a lifeguard during the summer and enjoyed helping the kids at the pool learn to swim. I am in a majority honors and AP classes and work hard to maintain good grades.
Overall, I love lacrosse, competing, and being a teammate and look forward to continuing to play in college.
