Dan Ambrose became the DePauw head men's lacrosse coach in the Fall of 2016.

In his first year he guided DePauw to an 8-6 overall record, the first winning season since the program's start in 2013.

Ambrose was previously the associate head men's lacrosse coach and offensive coordinator for the Catholic University of America Cardinals, where he coached since 2004. Catholic captured the 2015 and 2016 Landmark Conference championships and participated in the NCAA Division III postseason each of the last two seasons.

During his tenure, the Cardinals moved from 101st in the national rankings to 48th in 2016. In 2016, the Cardinals ranked 11th in the nation in man-up offense at 45.7 percent.

Since 2011, Ambrose has also served as Assistant Athletic Director - Business at Catholic where he was responsible for the management and financial operation of 21 NCAA Division III sports and nine university club sports.

Ambrose also was a program coordinator/coach from 2007-12 for MadLax which was consistently ranked in the top 10 in the national by Inside Lacrosse Magazine.

Ambrose graduated from Summit High School playing for the New Jersey state champion Summit Hilltoppers. He then went on to play at the University of Delaware as a midfielder. After Delaware, Ambrose received his degree in biology and Spanish from the University of Nebraska ('87). He later earned his MBA from the University of Texas-Dallas.

He then held positions with Mobil Oil, A.O. Smith Water Products Co., and National Wholesale Supply, Inc.
