Daniel Shields joined the Wittenberg coaching staff in 2018.

Shields is originally from Perth, Australia before moving to the states his junior year of high school. As a crafty attackmen during his playing years he spent one year at lacrosse junior college power house Onondaga Community College where he was a part of the Lazer’s 2010 National Championship team. He then transferred to the University of Mount Olive, where he earned three First-Team All-Conference selections.

Following his playing career, Shields went back to coach his high school alma mater, Mercer Island, helping them to a 22-1 record and the 2015 State Championship as the offensive coordinator. He then went on to be an assistant coach, serving as the offensive coordinator and goalie coach, at Tusculum College in Tennessee. His success at Tusculum included increased offensive productivity by one goal per game and the programs first appearance in conference playoffs.
