My name is Delaney Sinton. I started playing lacrosse at the age of 7. I began playing high school lacrosse as an 8th grader for Yorktown High School in Arlington, VA, and was a freshman on the varsity 2022 Virginia Class 6A State Champion team last spring. I play club lacrosse for MC Elite Midnight 2025 in Maryland, and was recently selected to play on the Under Armour All-America Washington, D.C. Command Team.
I am an extremely coachable, hard-working, disciplined athlete. I am a vocal defender and strong team player with a high work ethic and passion for lacrosse. I have exceptional one-on-one and team defensive skills and a high lacrosse IQ. I pride myself on my fast footwork, and constant communication. I excel on slides and I hunt for double-team opportunities. I am an aggressive defender, comfortable playing in man to man, zone, and backer defenses. Speed is a strength of mine which I use to my advantage in the defensive end of the field and in transitioning the ball on clears to the attacking side. I am scrappy on ground balls and use my quickness and defensive skills to create turnovers, start fast breaks and score goals. I am comfortable using both hands. In spring 2021, I was named Defensive Player of the Year for my Yorktown HS lacrosse team.
I am a multi-sport athlete. I played on the Yorktown Field Hockey team, starting in my 8th grade year. I run on the Yorktown Cross Country team (earned a Varsity letter), and played on the Yorktown Freshman Girls Basketball team.
I am a Morgan's Message Ambassador for my high school, advocating for student-athlete mental health awareness, a cause deeply important to me.
I currently have a 3.9 GPA taking intensified and AP classes at an academically challenging high school, and I am interested in pursuing a degree in sports science.
I am a hard working student-athlete, a great teammate, and I feel I can represent a school and team well both in the classroom and on and off the field. I would really like an opportunity to meet and talk with you to show you the type of person and athlete I am and see if I could be a good fit for your program.

Delaney is a strong and growing defender who more than most I consider a true student of the game. I have seen her develop both physical and mental skills over the past few years in various settings. Most recently I coached her at the Under Armour All America Team (DC Region) where she consistently showed the ability to adapt to coaching adjustments and play against highly skilled attackers who she effectively neutralized. Delaney is an exceptional defender, she is vocal, coachable, a leader, and most importantly a great teammate. On and off the field Delaney is always cheering for her teammates giving positive and encouraging messages. Delaney started every game her first year playing High School Lacrosse as a JV 8th grader. Delaneys aggressiveness and speed makes her stand out as a player of choice in many situations on the field. I am excited for Delaneys next 4th years playing at the HS level as she is only going to get stronger!
