Denise Wescott is in her first season as an assistant coach at Mercer University. Was a 4 year starting goalie at Maryland

Wescott was a head coach at five schools starting a 27-year run in the role with Drew (1989-90) before she moved on to Rutgers (1991-93), Delaware (1994-2004), Mount St. Mary's (2005-09) and Monmouth (2010-14). She also served as the head coach for the German National and World Cup teams from 1996-2005. From 2014, Wescott served as the Director of Lacrosse for the Capital Lacrosse Club (Alexandria, Va.) from 2014-19 then joining the Cal program for four years before heading to Mercer University as an assistant coach.

Her long list of coaching accolades include being named the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Mid-Atlantic and Northeast Conference Coach of the Year. In 2006, Wescott was inducted into the Lacrosse Hall of Fame in New Jersey, and received the IWLCA Diane Geppi-Aikens Lifetime Achievement College Coaching Award.

As a player, Wescott was a four-year starting goalkeeper and captain at Maryland in field hockey and lacrosse. During the span of her collegiate career, the Terrapins went 50-11-1 on the lacrosse field "77-80" and advanced to the AIAW tournament three times (what years????). She totaled 519 career saves and a 6.99 goals against average. Wescott was named to the USWLA All-Star team and USWLA Final Four All-Tournament squad in 1980. She was recently inducted into the US Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2018.
