Emily Altshuler
Recruit Profile
Coachable, hard-working, multi-sport, competitive, determined athlete with strong lax IQ. Carry weighted 4.5 in school. One of three freshman on Glenelg High School's varsity lacrosse team.
I started playing lacrosse when I was 4 years old, as a field player. When I was in 4th grade, I tried goalie, and I fell in love with it. Lacrosse has always been a priority in my life, and I played with HoCo since the club started until freshman year, I currently play for Hero's white 2024, and have always been amongst the top teams in the nation. I thrive in competitive situations, and I love putting myself in front of any shot. I am proud of my outlet passes and my save percentage. I am not afraid to go after the ball if it is outside of the crease. I enjoy being a leader, and being the backbone of my defense. I believe that leading my defense is just as important as saving and clearing the ball, and I have been building my leadership skills. I appreciate the bonds and relationships that lacrosse has offered me. Along with playing with my team and my coaches, I also enjoy participating in other trainings, outside of my club team. I also play midfield in field hockey, and have been a shooting guard in basketball at a travel level since 6th grade. Education is just as important to me as lacrosse. I am taking GT Algebra 2, GT English, Honors Spanish, Honors History and GT PTLW. I am in the Girl Up club, and enjoy helping my community. This organization helps women all over the world fight for gender equality. I use both my clubs and education to build my communication and leadership skills in lacrosse. I have taken several educational opportunities I have gotten since I remember. I am ready to compete and work for the highest spot possible in my future teams. I was on JV field hockey as a midfielder during the fall season. As a freshman, I am on Glenelg High School's varsity lacrosse team.

Emily is a bright, driven, and determined student of the game. She maximizes her natural abilities with incredible focus and hard work. She takes suggestion and coaching extremely well, working drills and skills tirelessly. Emily always takes our workouts and drills home with her, completing them over and over so she can do them for me at our next practice. Emily has excellent command of the crease. Emily attacks shots and is not afraid to make her own plays if the situation calls for it; stepping out to intercept a pass, sliding into defensive position on a ball carrier, or going hard for a ground ball. Emily is a true leader on our team. She commands the defensive unit but does not lose her cool with her teammates. She effectively calls for slides and defensive formations when needed. She tracks the ball well and always lets her defense know what is happening on the field. Over the last 5 years Emily has continued to impress with her on field play, her dedication to progress, her work ethic, and maturity that belies her 15 years.
