Emily Heim joined the Averett University women's lacrosse program as an assistant coach in June 2021.

Heim was a two-time NAIA All-American during her four-year playing career as a starting midfielder at the University of the Cumberlands from 2018-21. In 66 career games, she scored 151 goals and made 152 assists for a total of 303 points. She also finished with 128 ground balls, 322 draw controls and 81 caused turnovers. In 2019, she helped the Patriots win the Mid-South Conference championship. A three-time all-conference and two-time all-tournament team selection, Heim finished off her collegiate career by earning NAIA First Team All-America honors and Mid-South Conference First Team accolades while ranking in the top 10 of the NAIA in draw controls, assists, points and goals. She also received academic all-conference honors during her career.

In high school, Heim was a three-time all-state player and two-time member of the U.S. National Team Texas.

A native of Austin, Texas, Heim earned her bachelor's in English literary studies from UC in December 2020 and began a master of arts in teaching from UC in January 2021. She is pursuing her master's of business administration from Averett.
