Nyack College alumna Emily Sigmon is returning to the team this year for her first season as the head coach of the Women's Lacrosse program.

Emily transferred to Nyack College in 2014 and was a starter on the field every game for the three years she was on the team. She earned multiple awards including "Hard-Working Heart" and the "Presidential Scholar Award" for being among the 10 athletes in the athletic department with the highest GPA. She graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Pastoral Ministry and continued on to be the assistant coach for the 2017-2018 season.

Emily is a member of the Student Development staff at the college and brings an energy and joy with her in the commitment to the program. Coach Sigmon is the third coach in Nyack College Women's Lacrosse history.

Coach Sigmon states, "I am thankful for the support of the coaches and staff in the Nyack College Athletic Department as I step into this position. It is my commitment to build a team-first, champion culture on the team. Off the field, it is also my priority to develop a strong team bond, encourage high academic standards, passion for community, and development of faith. When that happens, we will all have a great season and a great year off the field as well."

Emily resides in Nyack where she is also an active member in the community as a firefighter in the Nyack Fire Department.
