My name is Emma and I am currently 16 years old. I have been playing organized lacrosse since 5th grade or about a third of my life. Although, I would say I started earlier playing in the backyard with my dad. I have been playing field hockey as well about the same length of time but my passion is lacrosse. I have continued to play both sports because I know playing multiple sports helps develop an athlete physically and one's game IQ but the main reason is I enjoy my teammates and the friendships I have made. I have played offense and defense in both sports but enjoy and prefer playing defense. I feel on defense I can have a major impact on the game and contribute to my team's success with my communication skills and vision of the field. With my size and speed I can ride opposing players hard and disrupt opponents by covering large areas fast in the defensive zone and when clearing the ball up field.
I am interested playing lacrosse in college while studying the Biological Sciences focusing my studies on Biomedical Engineering to learn how to design and build prosthetics. During the summer while playing lacrosse with my club team I worked at the area amusement park as a team member in food prep and as a cashier. So, I am a team player that can learn and contribute to any team's success whether on a field or not.
