Evan Kuroski
Recruit Profile
I am a multi-sport, team focused athlete willing to always be adaptable to the needs of my team. My skills are best utilized when I'm able to play aggressively.
I started playing lacrosse when I was in 3rd grade. I instantly was drawn to defense and I loved every second of it. In 6th grade I got my first D pole, a Nike Alpha Elite. That first practice with it was something special and I could tell that lacrosse was the sport for me. Ive trained more in close D but Ive also played LSM. I feel like I should be able to play both close D and LSM because it makes me a sharper player and improves my versatility on the field. Plus Ill do anything to get on the field and play! I always work on the basics like footwork and stick skills but right now, I am really focusing on improving the other aspects of my game like lax IQ and also learning how to break down my matchup, learning his likes and dislikes so I can give myself the advantage. Lacrosse for me has been super fun to play especially with my friends, but Ive also learned that it helps me unwind and things like stress tend to just fade away. Its a good way for me to clear my head. With a clear head I can focus on taking input coaches give me and immediately apply it the next time I play. Im always looking to make a play, but Im always a team first player. I know my role on the field and Ill execute that role until Im told otherwise. In the offseason I play outside linebacker and left tackle for my JV High School team. Ive grown up with football in my family and I started playing flag football in the 5th grade. Football keeps me in shape in the off season and playing linebacker I use a lot of the same skill sets I use playing lacrosse. Ive been bouncing around learning different pathways at Sunset High School but I am currently on the business and digital arts pathways. I am actively involved volunteering with the Sunset Youth Lacrosse community and I am the Class of 2023 Ambassador for Sunset High Schools Make-A-Wish fundraiser each year.
