Gail Wallach, who spent the last six seasons at the helm of the Alabama Huntsville program, will take the reins of the brand new program that is set to begin competition in the spring of 2023. The initial year will be spent recruiting student-athletes as well as preparing a schedule and gathering equipment needed to run the program.

Wallach also served as the head coach at Emmanuel College in Franklin Spring, Georgia, and she will lead a program in the Rocket City that starts play in the spring of 2016. In her two years at Emmanuel, Wallach coached one All-American and four all-conference honorees.

She has also made stops in her career as head women's basketball coach at Rutgers University-Camden, Drew University and Washington College. Wallach mentored 17 all-conference selections during her basketball coaching career.

Before taking over the head coaching duties at Washington, Wallach also served as an assistant coach for the women's basketball and lacrosse programs.

Wallach was a three-sport star at Kean University prior to her coaching career where she remains in the program's top five in ground balls.
