Grant excels in many aspects as a defender, but his ability to be a lockdown player while being a leader with his on and off ball communication is a game changer. Grant is a very strong defenseman who can play stifling on ball defense. He is big, fast, physical, and smart, and uses great approaches and footwork to dictate the direction of his attacker. In addition to being strong on ball, he is also very good sliding and communicating off ball. Grant can push transition and and be a threat scoring, while also making smart decisions with the ball. Grant would be a great addition to any defensive unit.

Grant Grieves is an athletic, strong defenseman with a strong stick who can consistently pick up ground balls. He's an asset in the clear game, and if given the opportunity he can start transition and he is a threat to score. Grant shoots over 90 miles per hour. He took great strides in learning our defense last year, and he has shown a consistently he's willing to work hard on all aspects of his game. We plan on moving him around this year depending on matchups, and he's poised to have a stand out junior season.
