Haley O’Hanlon joined the Bucknell women’s lacrosse staff as an assistant coach in August 2021.

“I am thrilled to welcome Haley to the Bucknell lacrosse family,” said head coach Jackie Dando. “As a former team captain at Colgate and one of the best midfielders ever to play for that outstanding program, Haley knows all about what it takes to be successful in the Patriot League from the standpoint of leadership, academics and the hard work on and off the lacrosse field that is a requirement for success. I am excited to have Haley work specifically with our draw specialists, midfielders, and attackers. Haley is a competitor, and we cannot wait to bring her intensity to the field.”

O’Hanlon, who spent the previous two seasons as a graduate assistant coach while completing a masters of business administration at Wilkes University, is one of Colgate’s all-time leading scorers. She ranks sixth in assists (67), eighth in goals (136) and ninth in points (197) on Colgate’s career charts, and she is also the Raiders’ career leader in draw controls with 217.

O’Hanlon was the Patriot League Rookie of the Year in 2015, she is a three-time IWLCA All-Northeast Region selection, and she was not only invited to the 2018 IWLCA North-South All-Star Game, but she was named the MVP after recording three goals and four draw controls in her North team’s 12-11 victory.

After graduating from Colgate with a degree in sociology, O’Hanlon played professionally with the Baltimore Ride of the United Women’s Lacrosse League in 2018. After working in the media industry New York City for a year, she joined the collegiate coaching ranks as a graduate assistant at Wilkes in August 2019.

A native of Garden City, N.Y., O’Hanlon served as the Colonels’ offensive coordinator and also worked closely with the draw specialists and goalies. She also monitored the team’s academic progress and played a key role in recruiting.

For the last two seasons, O’Hanlon has also coached the NEPA Rattlers club lacrosse team. She helped the club earn its very first tournament wins during its inaugural season in 2020, and she helped several players land spots on college teams. O’Hanlon also previously coached with Liberty Lacrosse in Long Island, N.Y.
