Hali Vandermeulen was hired as an athletic assistant for the women’s lacrosse team in the summer of 2021.

Vandermeulen will serve under Head Coach Kristin St. Hilaire and will be responsible for recruiting, scouting, practice and game preparation, along with day-to-day operations in the office.

Vandermeulen returns to Utica after a decorated four-year playing career for the Pioneers. She is Utica’s record holder in both career wins (29) and single-season wins (12). She helped backstop the Pioneers to back-to-back Empire 8 Tournament appearances and a new single-season record of 13 wins in 2019. She ranks second all-time with 368 career saves and she set a new single-season record for save percentage in 2019 en route to earning All-Region accolades.

Vandermeulen spent the 2021 season at Washington & Jefferson College where she helped guide the Presidents to a 10-1 overall record and their second NCAA Tournament appearance before W&J was eliminated in the third round by eventual National Champion Salisbury University.

Vandermeulen is a 2020 graduate of Utica College where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Wellness & Adventure Education. Upon graduation, she was named a 2020 Greg Roberts Senior Athlete Award winner, which is given out annually to a male and female student-athlete that best exemplifies what Greg Roberts stood for: hard work, unselfishness, loyalty, and passion for Utica College athletics.

Originally from Walden, NY, Hali currently resides in Utica and is pursuing her master’s degree at UC.
