In 6th grade I fell in love with lacrosse when a New England transplant moved to our area and started a program. I had tried multiple sports that I enjoyed, nothing stuck long term, but lax was different. I volunteered to be goalie on the varsity team and earned the spot. The next year I made the all star team and have been an all star player ever since. I am one of the top in the state for save percentage on max preps. I like to focus on the basics of good goal tending. This year I have learned so much about leading the defense because we had all new players that needed more leadership during games. I played on the field for the first time ever this season during one game and while I enjoyed scoring some goals it reminded me all the things I love about my goal. It also gave me great perspective from the point of view of the offense! I plan to use that this year to improve my game. Goal tending some for boys varsity has helped me "see the ball" even better than before. Part of what has helped me excel is my love for lacrosse. In my free time, I enjoy watching games, reading about players and learning all I can. When I got the chance to help coach and run clinics for younger kids I realized that my love for lax went beyond just playing, and I knew I wanted to become a coach someday. Being an athlete is important to me outside lacrosse. Although lacrosse in my only competitive sport, I participate in martial arts, gymnastics, weight lifting and swimming for fun. My three rescue dogs keep me busy as well. I'm an all A student taking honors classes. Since we live in a developing lacrosse area we travel as often as possible to more developed areas. One of my favorite things is to be a guest goalie for teams that I don't know, making new friends and learning about the game from new coaches.
