Kinney is the first hire for Pomeroy since taking the head coaching role at D&E back in early June. She arrives in Elkins following a summer stint as a coach for Black Lax, a premier high school girls lacrosse program located in Wisconsin.

Kinney was a high school standout in soccer, hockey and cross country before beginning her playing career collegiately in soccer at Northland College in 2017. Kinney started her lacrosse career at Northland with Coach Pomeroy during the program’s inaugural season in 2016-17.

Kinney transferred with Coach Pomeroy to Marian University in Wisconsin for the program’s inaugural season while also continuing her hockey career. She worked at Plymouth Comprehensive High School as a special education teacher’s aid during the 2020-21 school year, providing one-one-one aid, behavioral management and life skill teaching.
