Heidi Colford

Profile
Heidi Colford was hired as women's lacrosse coach in the summer of 2021.

She came to Whitman after serving this past season as head coach at Loras College in Iowa. This past spring with the Duhawks, Colford helped the team navigate a challenging 2021 season as the COVID-19 pandemic impacted play and scheduling. Despite the adversity, the Duhawks posted a 6-5 record and advanced to the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference (MWLC) tournament for the first time in program history. Loras recorded a program-best five all-conference honorees including the school's first-ever women's lacrosse player of the year award.

Prior to Loras, Colford served as the graduate assistant coach for the women's lacrosse team at St. Ambrose University during the 2019-2020 seasons. In that role, she assisted the head coach in practice planning and recruiting in addition to running practices and developing off-season training and recruitment. While on staff with the Fighting Bees, the teams went 11-6 and unfortunately had the season cut short in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As a student-athlete, Colford played for Division I Wagner College where she tallied 82 career goals, 49 assists, and 51 draw controls. She was a First-Team All-Northeast Conference selection in 2017 after leading the league in total points, assists, and points per game.

Colford earned her bachelor's degree in arts administration from Wagner before graduating with her master's degree in business administration from St. Ambrose.
