My name is Isabella Galofre. I was born in Colombia and moved to Miami when I was five years old. I have been playing lacrosse for three years at the varsity level. Prior to lacrosse, I danced ballet at a high level at the Miami City Ballet for nine years. Ballet gave me the dedication and motivation I have for sports. I have been on the varsity cross country team for three years as well. Competing at districts, regionals, and states, cross country has allowed me to gain the endurance that helps me be a midfielder in lacrosse. Having a balance between academics and athletics is very important to me. I am in all honors classes and have been selected for the National Honors Society. The same dedication that is put into my sports is put into schoolwork. I am currently the president of my club which helps raise funds for less fortunate Colombian kids with heart diseases and I am the founder of a non-profit foundation to help raise funds for breast cancer research. Lacrosse is not yet a well-known sport in Colombia and other Latin American countries. One of my dreams is to be able to help grow lacrosse in Colombia and other Latin American countries and help provide for the less fortunate kids.
