Friedman was a four-year starter in goal for Hamilton from 2004 to 2007 and was a first team all-American as a senior. In 2009 Friedman was a member of Canada's Senior Team that won a bronze medal at the International Federation of Women's Lacrosse Associations World Cup in Prague, Czech Republic.

Friedman ranks second on the program's all-time list with 491 career saves. She helped lead Hamilton to an overall record of 48-19 and four Liberty League playoff appearances. In 2007 the Continentals went 8-0 in the league, won their first league championship title and advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals. Friedman was first team all-region and first team all-league in addition to the all-America honor.

Friedman first received accolades in 2006 when Hamilton reached the finals of the league tournament as she was a second team selection to the all-region and all-league teams. She finished her career with a .529 save percentage and an 8.18 goals against average.

Friedman is from Whitby, Ontario. She received her bachelor's degree in French with a minor in Asian studies. She went on to earn a master's degree in childhood education and childhood special education from Long Island University.
