It was an amazing opportunity to have Katy play with Team 222 Diamonds this fall. We as coaches, are always fortunate to have such a talented individual when it comes to the players we get coach. As a player, Katy is an all-around athlete, who nothing but upside to her lacrosse skills and IQ. She absorbs eveything that coaches offer and then applies it on the field. One of the hardest workers at practices, but also understands the value of fun and being a great teammate. Her vision of the field has improved tremendously, and her patience on cutting is crisp. She played many positions because of her ability whether mid, defense, or attack, she is very committed to any role that is asked. It is apparent that with her controlled physical play, speed, and ability to shoot on the run, she fits a midfielders role very well. However, make no mistake, her presence is fealt any where on the field. As for off the field, a humble, fun, and committed teammate. She enjoys her teammates success, and with her positive attitude, lifts up her teammates.

Katy is far and above the hardest working lacrosse player that I have seen at Lexington High School. While she has not played as long as others, her work ethic and desire for greatness combined with her coachability makes Katy one of the greatest potential lacrosse players to come out of Lexington. Katy went from a first year JV player as a 9th grader to a starting varsity player the following year and has now become a player that the team will focus around as a junior. Her speed is her number one attribute. Coupled with that is her ever growing IQ that helps her understand what is happening around her and her quick decision making allows her to become part of every play. She has a strong shot and can take the draw with success. Off the field, one could not as for a better teammate and person. She cares about everyone and is always loved by everyone around her. I would encourage any coach to watch and talk with her as all of this will be fully evident.

Katy is an extremely strong lacrosse player and all around athlete. She is one of the most coachable players on the team, and is always striving to improve. Her height and aggressiveness gives her an advantage on the draw and circle. She is not afraid to ask questions, she’s always looking for ways to improve and is willing to go above and beyond to put in the work. She is a speedy midfielder who has a strong shot and tight defense. Her lacrosse IQ is always growing and she is one of the best teammates you could ask for. She is also very smart academically, which makes her a great role model for the word Student-Athlete. Her personality on and off the field helps her as a leader. She is constantly improving and has a great drive. She knows when to drive to goal, but also knows when to pass to a teammate who has a better scoring opportunity or angle than she does. She handles pressure well and is capable switching hands. Her rides in the midfield are also strong. Her hard work in the off season has shown her strides and growth.
