In the 3rd grade was my first time ever touching a lacrosse stick. Having been playing hockey since I was 4, the thought of another physical sport like lacrosse was great. I didnt love the midfield or attack position because I never loved to run and couldnt use my stick and hands as well as the other kids. One day my coach gave us a choice, he said whoever had the closest birthday would play goalie (if we wanted). From the first day I picked up goalie I loved it. Every practice and game I played goalie and enjoyed every second of it. This year, my freshmen year at Malden Catholic High School, I played as varsity goalie and earned my varsity letter. This year, it was challenging to play hockey and lacrosse, balance good grades in all honors classes and an AP history class, meet the required 15 hours of freshmen community service, all while meeting new people in a new school. Although it was tough, I wouldnt trade this year for anything and I would do it again.
