Kelly Dowd begins her third season in the coaching ranks as an assistant coach at Belmont Abbey after a stellar career at Queens.

She was named to the position in January.

A four-time All-South Atlantic Conference selection (three first-team, one second-team), Dowd is Queens all-time leader in draw controls with 210. She was a two-time all-region choice by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association and played in the IWLCA Senior All-Star Game. She was named second-team All-America as a senior.

Dowd captured team Most Valuable Player honors as a senior after sharing them the previous year and also served as a team captain her senior year. She made the SAC All-Tournament team all four season of her career and was recognized with several Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards.

Following her collegiate career, she traveled to Australia to play for the club team East Torrens Payneham in Adelaide, South Australia. Her team won the Grand Final Championship and received the Best and Fairest awards. She also coached a high school during its inaugural season.

A native of Stony Point, N.Y., Dowd graduated from Queens in 2017.
