Profile
Delaware Valley University is pleased to announce that Kevin Kohout has been named the new head men's lacrosse coach of the Aggies.

He becomes just the second head coach in program history and succeeds Gary Mercadante who became the head men's lacrosse coach at Ursinus College in August.

"First and foremost I'd like to thank (DelVal director of athletics) Steve Cantrell and the search committee for giving me the opportunity to lead the men's lacrosse program'" Kohout said. "Additionally, I would like to thank my family, coach (Jamie) Steele who coached me at Ursinus, coach (Keith) Euker from McDaniel and coach (Nick) Taylor at Arcadia, coach Mercadante, and all of my former players for their support and experiences they've provided me which I believe ultimately helped me earn this position.

"I'm excited to take over a young, growing program and look forward to taking it to new heights."

It is the first head coaching job for Kohout, a resident of Glenside, Pennsylvania who graduated from Ursinus in 2015 with a degree in exercise sports science. He was a dual-sport student-athlete for the Bears, competing all four years on the lacrosse and football teams.

Upon graduation, Kohout was an assistant men's lacrosse coach and strength and conditioning intern at Division III McDaniel College where he earned a master of science degree in exercise science and physical education. As a member of the Green Terror coaching staff, Kohout was primarily responsible for defensive midfielders, riding and clearing strategies and defensive strategy. He also worked as an assistant head coach at Rock Lacrosse Club in Baltimore, Maryland during that period.
