Recruit Profile
Hard-working and unselfish player with speed and endurance. Strong and accurate shot. Leads by example. Competitive multi-sport athlete.

My name is Lily Hynds and I play for Pine-Richland High School while homeschooling. Homeschooling has allowed me to focus on all aspects of my academics and athletics. I am mostly self-taught and have excellent time management skills. Homeschooling has also given me a chance to join many different teams and gain unique experiences. Over the years, I've played on many different teams for various sports (public school, private school, and club teams), so I am extremely adaptable and able to play with all types of players. On each team that I've played on, I have worked my way up from an outsider to a leader.

I have been playing for my club team, Lightning Lacrosse, since 6th grade. In 8th grade I went to Aquinas Academy of Pittsburgh and was the middle school lacrosse team captain and MVP. Last season was my first year playing for Pine-Richland High School. In one season, I was able to work my way up from JV to playing some Varsity games because of my hard work which was recognized by my coach. This year, I am a midfield starter on Varsity.

On the field, my strengths are my speed and endurance. Because of this I excel at transitions and getting open for clears. I have strong field sense and am always moving, getting open and looking to pass. I'm also very patient on offense and never force shots. With this, I was the JV leading scorer in my sophomore year (2021).

Besides lacrosse, I play tennis and was the #1 singles player on the Pine-Richland High School team in 2021. I'm also an avid runner. In my freshman year, I ran cross country for Vincentian Academy (co-op with Aquinas Academy) and we won the 1A WPIAL Championship. I was the 4th runner on the team and scored points to win the title (top 5 runners score). I also finished 1st in the 1 and 2 mile run during Pine-Richland JV and Varsity lacrosse tryouts in the 2021 season.

Additionally, I am a St. Joan of Arc Medallion Candidate through St. Lucy Auxiliary to the Blind, which honors young women for their dedication to community service. I have completed over 150 volunteer hours in high school so far, including being a volunteer coach at youth lacrosse camps. Homeschooling has allowed me to balance this with schoolwork, athletics, and also a job during the weekdays.
