At a young age, I began playing lacrosse for my town league. I instantly fell in love with the sport. As the speed and intensity of the game grew, so did my love for the sport. I played for my town and school, but never considered myself as good as the "top squad" who would all meet weekly with their elite clubs and trainers galore. It was the summer before my freshman year of high school began that I tried out for Sound Lacrosse. Never in a million years did I think I would be playing with girls who have had their D1 lacrosse dream school since 10 years of age. I was instantly offered a spot onto the team by the end of the first tryout. I was exposed to a new level of the game playing against extremely talented girls, but my explosiveness, speed, and aggression remained unmatched even in this new high-level environment. I became notorious on the team for my tenacity and determination. I was the underdog who made it to the big leagues through hard work and passion alone. In the winter of my freshman year, I started track and field mostly just to stay in shape, but it quickly became a serious passion of mine. I made the varsity squad, and raced in the middle-distances -- my favorite being 600m. My first official race -- the New Balance Invitational at The Armory track NYC -- I broke the school record in both the 500m individual, and 4x200m relay. Behind the scenes of these two sports is a rusty barbell and set of dumbells in my condo's garage. I have lifted -- with the support and spotting from my dad -- almost daily since age 11. My deadlift PR is 215 lbs, around 200% of my bodyweight. My hunger for success goes beyond the athletics. I highly value education and school. I wish to pursue computer science, statistics, or medicinal technology in my college education. I have prepared in hopes of doing so by studying for the SAT exam, and enrolling in many AP courses that will set me up for success in my undergraduate education.
