Maci Black
Recruit Profile
Coachable and smart, team player with strong Lax IQ - aggressive, quick, determined multi-sport athlete, sees the field, great sportsmanship
Hi my name is Maci Black. I started playing lacrosse in 4th grade and joined T3 Elite Shore in 6th grade as a midfielder. Along with playing lacrosse, I played travel soccer and competitive AAU basketball from 2nd grade until 8th grade until I realized that I wanted to concentrate on lacrosse and it became my number one sport. During my freshman year, I played Varsity basketball, Varsity lacrosse and JV soccer. The benefits of being a multi-sport athlete include experiencing different coaching styles, enhancing different skill sets, and most importantly developing a strong sense of team-work and leadership that makes me a better lacrosse player and teammate. As a freshman, I made Varsity basketball and we were NJ TOC Champions, Group 2 State Champions, Central Jersey Group 2 Sectional Champions, Shore Conference Tournament Champions, and B North Division Champions. After that memorable and exciting season I played Varsity lacrosse and made an immediate impact with scoring 7 goals, recording 4 assists and winning 11 face offs in the first 7 games of the season before being sidelined with an ACL injury. For the remainder of the season as I rehabbed, I continued to cheer on my teammates as they played in the Shore Conference Championship and Group II States Championship games. My injury turned my sports-oriented life upside down over the past 6 months, however, being an athlete has allowed me to exhibit my strength, stay dedicated, remain committed, and display my resilience. I can’t wait to get back on the field with my teammates and do what I love.
As a strong Student Athlete I have taken the following honors classes: English I/English II, World History/ US I History, Pre-Calc, Spanish II/Spanish III. In school, I am a member of the Key Club, Squan-a-thon (a 12 hour dance marathon held annually to raise money for pediatric cancer research), Life is Good Club, Donate for Life Club, and Christian Youth Organization. I volunteer locally to raise money for breast and pediatric cancer, local firefighters, and organizations in town. I also work locally at the SLH Recreation Department throughout the summer.

Maci is one of the strongest players, both fundamentally and tactically, I have seen in the '21 class. She is aggressive, yet very smart and calculated on the field. You can rely on her to facilitate the flow of the game and to make consistent, smart decisions.
