Maddie Phelan
Recruit Profile
Poised, determined, and gritty multi-sport athlete. Coachable and accountable team player with a great Lax IQ. Intelligent and strong decision-maker on the field and in the classroom.
I started playing lacrosse at age 6. I am a multi-sport athlete from Wilton, CT and have played for my club team since 5th grade. Defense is my strength, but also help my team in the midfield. I play strong man-to-man defense and communicate well with my teammates. I am very comfortable with both hands and pride myself for my speed and quick feet. I am also able to create turnovers as a result of playing fast and anticipating what the attackers will do. I was awarded the sportsmanship award during the 20-21 spring season. In the offseason I play basketball and cross country. I was a guard on the Wilton varsity basketball team as a freshman and competed in the varsity races for cross country as a freshman.
In school, I took honors in math, science, history, and English freshman year. Sophomore year I will be taking honors in science, math, Spanish, and AP European History. I received high honors every semester. I volunteer for JDRF as this is a charity important to me, help coach the youth teams for my town's lacrosse program, and was a WEB leader/mentor at my school (Where Everyone Belongs). I also volunteer for my church, Jesse Lee United Methodist Church, and participate in the local charity events they sponsor. Additionally, I am a member of the American Cancer Society and Pediatrics Club at my school.
