Madison Newby
Recruit Profile
Coachable, commited to my game, team player. Before my sophomore year, I tore my ACL and meniscus and have been working to get back. It has grown me as a player and made me realize how much I love the sport.
I started playing lacrosse in 3rd grade and have been playing defense since the very beginning. I started playing travel with PYLA after my 6th grade year, then moved onto Ultimate Goal after my 7th grade year, where I have been ever since. As a freshman, I was a varsity player for my high school team. After my freshman year, I tore my ACL and meniscus at a tournament and have participated as much as possible in order to stay connected to my high school team and have gone to as many tournaments and practices for Ultimate as possible, continuing to learn from the sidelines. I am comfortable switching hands and I have good timing when it comes to defensive slides. I take honors English, honors pre-calculus, and honors chemistry. I am in NHS and in 2 community service clubs. I am also a volunteer coach for my local youth lacrosse league. In addition to coaching, I am a PAGLA referee.
