Profile
Marykate Edmunds enters her first season as women's lacrosse head coach after joining the Knights in January 2022.

Prior to Geneseo, Edmunds spent three seasons as the women's lacrosse head coach at State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) rival Fredonia, where she grew the Blue Devils' women's lacrosse program and led the team through the 2019 season as well as the pandemic-shortened 2020 and 2021 campaigns. In Edmunds' first season with the Blue Devils, the team doubled its win total. Edmunds also helped the team increase its overall GPA from 2.69 in Spring 2018, the semester before she began as head coach, to 3.47 in Spring 2021.

Before taking over at Fredonia, Edmunds served as an assistant coach at St. John Fisher for two seasons. A St. John Fisher alumni, Edmunds helped lead her alma mater to back-to-back Empire 8 Women's Lacrosse Championships and NCAA Tournament berths.

Edmunds also spent one season as an assistant coach at SUNY Poly, where she helped guide the Wildcats to their first-ever conference championship and NCAA Tournament berth in 2016.

During her playing career, Edmunds was a three-time All-Conference selection and two-time Empire 8 All-Tournament Team honoree for the Cardinals. Edmunds led the squad to three NCAA Tournament appearances in four seasons as a starter.

Edmunds earned a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management at St. John Fisher and completed her Master's degree in Athetic Administration from Concordia University-Irvine (Calif.).
