In late August, 2019, Towson University head men's lacrosse coach Shawn Nadelen announced Matt Musci as the program's newest addition.

Musci will serve as an assistant coach/offensive coordinator.

"The Towson lacrosse family is excited to welcome in Matt Musci and his family," said Nadelen. "Matt is a proven leader that works very hard to establish strong relationships with his players in order to develop them into great young men and lacrosse players. His passion for the game of lacrosse is evident and his beliefs in what type of culture a program should have is completely in line with our culture at Towson. I am eager to get to work alongside Matt as we enter into the 2019-20 year."

Musci steps in for former associate head coach/offensive coordinator Anthony Gilardi, who accepted the head coaching position at Stony Brook University over the summer. Over the course of his career, Musci has mentored four players who have gone on to play in the professional ranks: Jarrod Neumann, James Barclays, Brendan Kearns and Tate Boyce.

"My family and I couldn't be more grateful and excited to join the Towson lacrosse family and athletics department," said Musci. "Personally, I am humbled by the opportunity afforded to me by Coach Nadelen, director of athletics Tim Leonard and deputy athletic director Tricia Brandenburg. I am eager for the challenges that lie ahead. It is a privilege to coach a program with such a strong lacrosse tradition and look forward to building relationships with all the young men on the team and mentoring them on and off the field. Also, I would like to thank Chris Gabrielli and Bob Driscoll for all the faith and guidance they provided me at Providence College. My experiences at Providence provided me with all the tools necessary to become the coach and person I am today."

Before arriving at Towson, Musci was an assistant coach/offensive coordinator at Providence College, beginning in July 2016. While in Providence, he helped the Friars develop and execute offensive game plans in settled, unsettled and man-up situations. He implemented individual skill development plans for the attackmen and midfielders. He was charged to recruit elite-level student-athletes while building relationships with high school and club coaches. While working with the Friars, Musci helped guide the team to 10 wins in the 2017 season, tied for the most single-season wins in program history. That year, Providence earned its first top 20 national ranking.
