After playing baseball through Little League, along with 8 years of competitive, travel ice hockey, I found lacrosse in 7th grade. My aunt was my first lacrosse coach and continues to mentor me today. After my 8th grade hockey season ended, I chose to focus solely on lacrosse as I had finally found my sport.
In my freshman year, there were 2 junior goalies on the team. It was a challenge, but I earned the position of starting varsity goalie that year. I found that the more I focused, the more drive I had, and the better I played.
I have the opportunity to play lacrosse in The Netherlands this January in the Euro Cup. While this is of course still a competitive event, the ability to help lacrosse develop and progress in Europe is such an honor. I cannot wait to see what types of teams we play. Win or loose, this will be something to remember for the rest of my life!
