McKayla Orvis
Recruit Profile
Dedicated, hardworking, strong lax IQ, coachable, team player. Gives 110% to everything. Sets goals and works hard to achieve them.
I was born to be a lacrosse player. My mother coached they day before she went into labor with me, and after I was born, she coached her state tournament games from her hospital bed.
I started playing lacrosse at the age of 7, but I have been around the game my whole life. When I was around 10 years old, my team needed a goalie and I stepped up. After a few games I decided that goalie was the position for me and I have enjoyed playing goalie every day since. I have been playing lacrosse at a club level since 2015. As a goalie, one of my greatest strengths is being an on field communicator. I also have a strong and powerful clear, as well as fast feet that help my body get in the way of a shot.
During freshman year, I was class president. I was enrolled in honors English, Science and History. I made high honors for the whole school year. I was named Backup Varsity Goalie for my high school team.
For my sophomore year, I decided that transferring to a private school would be better for my education, where I took honors English, Biology, and Religion. I was apart of recycling club, book club, and student ambassadors. I also started playing field hockey, and developed many new skills that I can apply to lacrosse. During my sophomore season, I was named as a varsity goalie. I made first honors for the first three quarters, and made honors with distinction for my fourth quarter.
