Mia Skibins
Recruit Profile
Hello! My name is Mia Skibins. I am a varsity player with a 4.08 GPA. I'm told that I've extremely coachable. I hope to play at the college level!
Hi! My name is Mia Skibins and I have been playing lacrosse for 6 years. I would love to continue playing at the college level. I am a dedicated teammate, I never miss practice, and I always hustle. My freshman year I was a starter on Penn High School’s freshman team. Freshman year I also received a varsity letter for being one of three freshmen picked to play varsity. On top of that, I won the award for Freshman Defensive Player of the Year. Throughout the season I improved my skills and helped to mentor brand new players.
This year, as a sophomore, I was a starter on varsity and I was honored to be awarded the Varsity Defensive Player of the Year. I'm also proud to say that our team finished the regular season ranked as #1 in the state!
During the summer I play for Indy United, a summer travel team. This will be my second year as a member of the travel team, and I'm looking forward to playing in Philadelphia, Maryland, and Indianapolis.
I pride myself on being a hard worker on and off the field. My GPA is 4.0833 and I always challenge myself with honors classes, accelerated classes, and AP classes. This year I am taking classes such as English Honors, Precalculus and Trigonometry Accelerated, Intro to Engineering, Spanish Accelerated, and AP European History. I have taken part in multiple clubs including Key Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Kingsmen Against Cancer, Dance Marathon, Kids Coalition, Dream Commission Society, and Freshman Mentoring. Outside of school, I volunteer with three-year-olds at my church. I also volunteer at the Food Bank of Northern Indiana. Every year I take part in Bags of Love and Christmas Commandos. I know the importance of being a well-rounded student and giving back to the community.
I cannot wait for another fantastic season with my teammates!
