Head coach Dave Dobbins of the nationally-ranked St. John Fisher men's lacrosse team has announced the hiring of Mike Perrino as an assistant coach.

Perrino brings plenty of value to the team as he served as the offensive coordinator and goalie coach for Ohio Wesleyan University. As an assistant coach for the Battling Bishops, Perrino commanded them to one of the more potent attacks in the country after they ranked inside the top 20 in scoring offense last season.

"Mike's experience and pedigree are huge for our program," stated Dobbins who has led the Cardinals to an Empire 8 Championship and a deep run in the NCAA Championship in each of the last two seasons. "His great personality, enormous passion and background will go a long way in helping to continue to grow our team into a national championship caliber program."

Perrino, who is a 2016 graduate from Canisius College, played three years for the Griffins where he studied sports management and earned All-Academic honors. Following his graduation, Perrino played at the professional level with the Ohio Machine in 2017-18, where he would win a Major Lacrosse League championship.

"Mike's experience as a player and coach will allow him to thrive in all aspects of the game including on-field as well as recruiting efforts," continued Dobbins.

Perrino will join a highly-touted program that was ranked eighth in the final United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association national poll after posting a 12-4 overall record in 2021. Fisher, which boasted one of the top scoring offenses in Division III, will return a wealth of talent including numerous All-Americans.
