A driven and disciplined multi-sport athlete who is a coachable, team player with a strong Lax IQ.
I began playing lacrosse when I was 10 years old and I immediately fell in love with the game! My first season I won the Rising Star MVP award and I have been working hard ever since! I play defense for my club team, Lax Maniax 2023 Black. I am gritty, aggressive to the ball and have a strong Lax IQ and very good stick skills which are a benefit as I play high defense and sometimes backer with my club team. On my high school team, St. Augustine High School, I start every game with my Varsity team, even my freshman year. I play some midfield & attack but mostly defense.
In 2019 I played at the Maverick National Lacrosse Classic in Delaware, at US Lacrosse Nationals 14U and I was invited to the Under Armour Callback Academy. In 2020 I was invited to Nike's Elite 120 and this summer I played in the US Lacrosse Womens National Tournament.
I also play in a flag football league. Last winter I finished my 9th year playing in this league. I have won 3 championships, finished as runner up 3 times. This year we finished 3rd in the high school division. Although I have played for many years most of my team was new or newer to the sport this year so I would consider finishing 3rd a WIN! It was great to be on the leadership side of the team and to watch some of the newer players learn the game.
I finished 8th grade with 3 high school honors classes completed (Spanish I, Algebra I and Physical Science) and last year as a freshman I took all honors classes including pre-AICE Spanish II honors, Biology I honors, Geometry honors and English I honors. As a Sophomore I really enjoyed my Algebra II, Chemistry, Psychology and Law classes.
I am also part of the Teaching Academy at my high school and I enjoy my opportunities volunteering at local elementary schools with the Teaching Academy (virtually in 2021), volunteering throughout my local community with my family, and also helping with community projects and fundraisers with my dads Rotary Club, Sunrise Rotary of St. Augustine.

Shannon Content
Neely is a starting defender since her freshman year on the Saint Augustine high school team. Neely also plays on our local travel team, Spartans, when she is not playing with the Maniaxs. She is extremely knowledgeable about the sport and defense. She has amazing tracking skills and anticipates where the ball will go and gets her stick and body in position and leads our team in interceptions. Her exceptional stick skills allow her to pick up ground balls and protect quicker than anyone on my team. She is a game player and always puts it all out there on the field. She puts many hours into the sport and has really become one of the best defenders in our County.
Sarah Burlingame
Neely is a strong, gritty, aggressive and tenacious defender. She is our shut down 1v1 defender. Her constant on ball pressure, smothers and frustrates attackers. Neely is incredibly hard working, always putting in time on her footwork and explosive speed. Neely is a natural leader!
