I am an entry level Coach for High School Students at St. Benedict Catholic Secondary School. My focus is presently on the introduction of Field Lacrosse to our Board and to the city of Cambridge.
Our intent in the next five years is to develop a team that can play at the same level if not better that the locally established teams. Moving forward, our eyes are on the top Ontario teams.
I am a Certified Ontario Box Lacrosse Coach Level 2 and a level 1 Certified Ontario Field Lacrosse Coach.
My personal experiences with Lacrosse have been both through my own playing as well as that of my brothers and my own children. I played box Lacrosse for KW braves as a youth, as did my older brothers. It was a great way to develop toughness and strategy. My own children play now and have since they were 5 and 9 years of age. My son plays both box and field, while my daughter plays field - both for KW Lacrosse.
I am a 6th degree black belt in Jujitsu and see Lacrosse as a similar source of physical and mental discipline.
Presently our school is depending on players from the Cambridge City League. While, during the off season we run a club to introduce students to the sport of Lacrosse.
We would hope that Lacrosse at St. Benedict would be used as a reference to the strength and resilience of this land's aboriginal people and their game "Little Brother".
