As a high school junior, my current academic focus is on studying health sciences in college. I am a lifelong Type 1 diabetic and managing academics and athletics has led my desire to study medicine in college.
I started playing lacrosse at 8 years old. My love fore lacrosse has led me to become a certified junior referee for the Northern California Women's Lacrosse Association. In addition to lacrosse I spent 7 years swimming competitively, and participated in dance/cheer for 10 years.
I am a strong academic and natural leader.
As a young diabetic, I was selected to be a Youth Walk Ambassador for JDRF where I visited corporations and community events to talk about life with diabetes. My largest audience had 500 attendees. I am an active volunteer with the Diabetic Youth Foundation in Concord, California, which has helped me to achieve my excellent health and given me the understanding and courage to meet any challenge and succeed.
I finished fall semester of my junior year with a 4.14 GPA. I now have 5 consecutive semesters of California Scholarship Federation honors.
I will continue to challenge myself academically and athletically and anticipate being selected as a captain for this upcoming high school lacrosse season.
